The US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and Mexico are working closely together on the goal of food safety for better protection of the consumer. One third of food imported into the US is from Mexico. A Statement of Intent exists between US and Mexican agencies to target the areas of outbreak response, laboratory collaboration, prevention, and outreach and food safety training.
