Labelling Changes in Australia

As a result of a review from the voluntary Australia Health Star Rating system for front of pack labeling, several changes have been made to some product categories.  Notable changes include all fresh fruits and vegetables having an automatic 5 stars which is the highest rating.  Diet beverages will not achieve no more than 3.5 stars, and several no sugar added juices are now rated as low as two stars which is a concern for fruit growers and juice processors.  There is a transition period of two years with a 12 month stock in trade provision for foods that are impacted by these changes.
