Meet Your Presenters: 

Dr. Henrik Jungclas – Product Manager, SCM, and Subject Matter Expert 

Henrik Jungclas is a Subject Matter Expert for Food Contact Materials at FoodChain ID. Prior to his recent position he has worked as a Regulatory Affairs Manager and internal auditor for quality and hygiene at Tetra Pak, Weidenhammer and Sonoco Consumer Products Europe since 2006.  

He is chair of the Food Contact group of the German Paper Converting Association and co-author of various books in the area of Food Contact Materials and Hygiene management. He was an external expert to the BfR Commission subgroup Paper & Board from 2019 until 2022. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Phillips-University Marburg. His main interests are global compliance and environmental assessments of Food contact materials. 

 

Kevin C. Kenny, J.D., LL.M – Senior Vice President, Compliance Services 

Mr. Kevin C. Kenny is the Senior Vice President for Compliance Services at FoodChain ID. As a member of the FoodChain ID Executive Leadership Team, he is an experienced regulatory attorney who has worked and consulted in the food and consumer products industries for over 27 years.  

Kenny advises some of the world’s largest manufacturers on food additive, food contact and supply chain compliance challenges. He has headed international consulting projects on four continents and has developed the content of FoodChain ID’s regulatory compliance products. Kenny was a founder of Decernis, a compliance, safety and risk management company, which FoodChain ID acquired in 2019. At Decernis, Kenny was responsible for regulatory content and was Executive Director of the global advisory services team. 

Kenny earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, diploma in Public International Law from the Hague Academy of International Law, and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Public International Law from Kiel University. 

 

Matthew Parker, B.S. Subject Matter Expert Food Contact

Matt Parker is a subject matter expert in the area of food contact for Food Chain ID (FCID). He has more than twenty years of regulatory experience in the food packaging industry. He has provided global regulatory expertise for various companies including Closure Systems International and Graham Packaging Company, LLC. Matt has been with FCID for three years.

Matt’s expertise includes regulatory assessment of food contact materials, packaging sustainability, and food contact dossier preparation. Matt is also the Research Lead for the United States and is responsible for tracking legislation at Federal and State levels for all modules covered by FCID’s Regulatory Library and Regulatory Assessment tools.

Matt participates regularly in meetings of the Food Safety Alliance for Packaging (FSAP), as well as the Food Drug Cosmetic Packaging Materials Committee (FDCPMC), a subcommittee of the Plastics Industry Association.

Matt obtained a BS in Chemistry from Ball State University.
