The Hut Group has become the first branded sports nutrition brand in the UK to secure the BRC Global Food Safety Standard for its Myprotein range of premium sports supplements.
Audited by FoodChain ID Certification, The Hut Group, which specialises in on-line retailing across several categories, from entertainment to fashion, gifting to health and beauty, opted for the BRC Standard to recognise its GMP and the importance the company places on food quality and safety.
With more than 350 products available to purchase on-line, Myprotein is the number one sports nutrition brand in Europe with the majority of its products manufactured at its state of the art manufacturing site in Warrington.
In a sector sometimes perceived as negative with issues such as protein spiking and false nutrition claims, BRC certification gives Myprotein an added ‘stamp of approval’ of its commitment to investing in quality.
Andy Duckworth, CEO Lifestyle Division from The Hut Group explains:
“We introduced the BRC Food Safety standard to increase recognition of The Hut Group as a quality food manufacturer. Top athletes in all sports from football to rugby, athletics, cycling and bodybuilding use our natural products and BRC provides customer confidence that Myprotein products are produced safely and are consistently of the highest quality.”
