For brand owners, manufacturers, growers, and others seeking to earn the Non-GMO Project Verified seal for food products, GMO testing may be required. Testing helps determine a product’s compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard (a consensus-based document detailing the requirements for product verification).

Non-GMO Project participants with products containing high GMO-risk inputs are required to conduct GMO testing on input samples and/or end products, and may need to develop a customized sampling plan that meets the statistical confidence level required by the Non-GMO Project Standard.
