U.S. Non-Alcoholic Beverage Brands Form Association

A group of non-alcoholic beverage brands in the United States has joined to form the Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association (ANBA) noting an increase in the trend towards mindful drinking. The primary remit of the ANBA is to provide a central entity for non-alcoholic beverage brands and stakeholders to share resources. The association also hopes to bring awareness to alternatives to alcoholic beverages and offer a single voice in terms of regulations and trade practice. So far, the association represents about 40 brands. Currently in the U.S. a non-alcoholic beverage alternative is defined as one with 0.5% ABV (alcohol by volume) or below. The term “adult” is used to indicate adults of legal drinking age and differentiates these beverages from waters, sodas, juice drinks, etc. The first mission of this association is to carve out a clear category and provide industry clarity around that.
