Taiwan Labeling and Advertising Legislation

The Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare announced proposals to amend food labeling and advertising legislation so that except for health foods that have been inspected, registered and licensed, general foods must not use the word “health” as part of their product name.  This is an effort to avoid consumer misunderstanding and confusion around the word “health” and any claim that it implies.  The government of Taiwan is expected to take further steps around advertising to avoid consumer misunderstanding.
