On March 25, 2021, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) published notification No. 2021-128 announcing a partial amendment to the Food Additives Code.  Most notably, the amendment includes a list of 58 chemically defined flavor substances to be added to the current positive list of synthetic flavoring substances.  In the draft notification, MFDS also proposed to add two new source materials for natural flavoring substances.  The comment period for the draft notification is open until May 24, 2021.
