Mexico proposes Ban on Glyphosate and GM Corn

On December 9, Mexico released a draft decree on the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement (CONAMER) website calling for a phase out of the use of the herbicide glyphosate over the next four years.  The decree also appears to contain a revocation of the existing and future permits for GM corn for human consumption.  According to the draft decree, the cultivation and use of GM corn would be phased out by early 2024.
