Europe Authorizes New Novel Foods

The EU recently authorized new novel foods amending Regulation EU 2017/2470. The list of novel foods was updated in February to include the new additions.  They include several forms of yellow mealworm, cetylated fatty acids, and Pandalis herb. A change to the specifications for UV-treated baker’s yeast was also approved. Because these modifications were published after January 2021, they are not applicable to Great Britain.
