EFSA publishes guidance documents on secondary shelf life of opened food packages

The European Food Safety Authority, EFSA, published a guidance document to advise food business operators on date marking and related food information of opened food packages and thawed frozen foods. Since many food items have limited time for consumption after opening, and some foods may spoil rapidly once the package is opened, the document contains recommendations for the secondary shelf live, including for highly perishable foods to avoid dangers to human health.
