Regulation (EU) 2018/848 on organic production and labeling of organic products is applicable from January 1, 2022 and repealed Regulation (EC) 834/2007.  The new organic regulation sets forth basic requirements for production, labeling, and control of organic products.  More detailed rules concerning lists of products and substances allowed in organic products are laid down in the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1165.  Products produced in accordance with (EC) 834/2007 before January 1 may be placed on the market until the stock is exhausted. Several secondary rules on importation have been published as well.
