COVID-19 Updates

Currently certified operations are still in good standing and continue to be subject to regular program requirements. The USDA’s system has built-in flexibility built regarding timing of inspections. We are staying abreast of all relevant discussions in order to make any adjustments that may be necessary due to the evolving nature of the situation.

FoodChain ID has been actively engaged with the organic community in discussions regarding contingency for onsite inspections during the COVID-19 crisis, and contributed to the collective contingency plan document, which informs our own arrangements with our customers as we move head through the pandemic.

Where possible and allowable, we are still conducting on-site inspections. At this time inspection cancellation fees will not be imposed. We will be working with each customer to efficiently re-schedule any affected inspections just as soon as it is safely possible. We may be able to conduct certain kinds of inspections virtually.
