For more than two decades, FoodChain ID has been at the vanguard of the New Food industry, providing expertise worldwide to navigate the requirements of an increasingly regulated food economy and technical services to support the demand for clean label standards.
FoodChain ID assists food, feed, and agricultural companies—from the world’s leading brands to single product local producers—through certification and technical and testing services and solutions. We provide the knowledge, technologies and tools necessary to meet the growing demand for higher levels of transparency, accountability, safety and sustainability.
FoodChain ID was founded in 1996 as Genetic ID, a pioneer of the GMO food identification industry—one that is now embraced worldwide. Our technical and business services rapidly expanded to include serving clean label, food safety, and sustainability claims through offerings of Non-GMO Project verification, USDA Organic certification, BRC and SQF food safety certification, ProTerra, ProFarm, —and many others—along with a robust suite of testing/business services that expedite food and agricultural exports. Today, more than 30,000 companies in over 100 countries rely on our industry-leading solutions.
FoodChain ID is at the forefront of the visibility and transparency revolution. We were the first technical administrator working with the Non-GMO Project and we continue in that role today, having verified more than 50,000 products. Our testing laboratory was first to offer digital PCR testing for GMOs (now the industry standard), and expanded to meet market needs for critical tests protecting brands and ensuring compliance to standards. Annually we certify more than 3 million metric tons of agricultural product for social and environmental responsibility to the ProTerra standard, while providing regulations guidance for export to all major markets, including the fast-growing Chinese market.
We launched inSYTE, the groundbreaking cloud-based compliance manager that provides supply chain visibility and streamlines supply-chain reporting and processes. FoodChain ID’s worldwide consulting, labelling and regulatory expertise is unparalleled. And, our HorizonScan risk assessment database identifies threats to the supply chain while automating processes toward meeting FSMA requirements.
