The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety of Germany analyzed the food warnings on the government portal lebensmittel.de and found that 16 more warnings were issued in 2020 compared to 2019, a new record high. Most complaints involved grains, baked goods, dairy and meat products, and involved in many cases hazardous substances like pesticides exceeding the limit.
