Recall of Onions tainted with Salmonella
20 August 2020
The FDA has posted two notices about a recall of onions tainted with salmonella. The onions were sold by nationwide retailers in four states: Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 640 people have been sickened and 85 have been hospitalized from consuming the tainted onions. The FDA now warns about eating prepared foods such as salsas and prepackaged salads that may contain these onions as well as the fresh bin red and yellow onions. Over 50 types of ready to eat foods containing these onions have now been recalled. Questions? Contact us.
