From Plastic Trash to Gold (or, even better, Fuel)

Liquid fuels from single use plastic waste? Researchers from the University of Delaware and others published a paper that describes a tandem catalytis process that can convert a range of plastic waste, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and composite materials. The advantage of this hydrocracking process is that it can be done at relatively mild conditions, which would keep this recycling method economical.
