Consumers seek out transparency for food product labels

When a shopper is selecting a food product, what makes or breaks their purchase decision? In recent years, consumers have shown extensive interest in learning about GMO’s and labeling GM products, but this may not be their only focus.

FoodChain ID’s CEO, David Carter, spoke to ABC News recently about the increase in consumer demand for food transparency. Consumers seek clear knowledge about product ingredients and production, and this is often achieved with the use of identifiable labels such as “USDA Organic,” “Kosher” and “Non-GMO.”
