FDA Recalls Eight Cheese Products
Over the weekend, FDA announced the recall of eight different cheese products sold under various brands possibly contaminated with listeria. Listeria monocytogenes typically causes stomach issues such as diarrhea and vomiting but can cause death. The FDA found this bacterium during a routine sampling, but to date no one has been reported ill or hospitalized. The contaminated cheeses were distributed to multiple states including Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Florida. The contaminated cheeses were manufactured between May 4 and May 6 of this year.
