EcoBeauty Score Goes Live

The EcoBeauty Score Consortium has gone live with thirty-six member companies. The new consortium aims industry wide environmental impact assessment and scoring system for beauty products. Members include The Estee Lauder Company, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, and P&G. The scoring system is expected to launch at the end of this year across a select number of cosmetic product categories to start. It is estimated that 42 percent of consumers are interested in buying from cosmetics brands that adopt circular and sustainable practices.  A common scientific methodology will provide consumers with a clear and transparent environmental score for multiple product categories with more to be added.
