Canada to Require Nutrition Warning Labels

Starting in 2026, Canada will require that companies add nutrition warnings to the front of pre-packaged foods containing high levels of saturated fat, sugar, or sodium.  The new label will complement rather than replace existing labels with the goal of providing more information to consumers. The new labeling will include a magnifying glass symbol as a way of drawing attention to important information that consumers should consider when buying groceries. Currently, ground meat has been exempted from the new labeling.
