CA Proposition 65 Notice of Modification to Text
On April 16, OEHHA (Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment) provided notice of changes made to proposed regulations on exposures to Proposition 65 listed chemicals formed when food is cooked or heat processed, Title 27 California Code of Regulations section 25505. After reviewing comments on this proposed regulation, OEHHA has modified the language in several ways. One significant text change removes a sentence and clarifies that a business is not required to make further showing of feasibility or compliance with good manufacturing practices to rely on the levels established in subsection (d). Specific references to almond butter were removed for further review along with references to prune juice. OEHHA must receive comments on the text modifications by May 7, 2021 when the comment period closes. Due to the pandemic, electronic comments are preferred.
