Food Standards Australia New Zealand is finalizing recommendations for a proposal to the Ministerial Forum relating to Proposal P1044 “Plain English Allergen Labelling”. The Proposal has undergone several rounds of public consultation with the goal of “making allergen labelling clearer and more consistent, to help people with food allergies make informed choices and support food businesses to get their labelling right”.  The proposal is in a final draft stage with anticipation of completion within the calendar year.
